On page 7 of the manual for the 110/60/ATS-3/B diagram, contact GTS/Aux should be in the open position? This diagram shows that the generator is active and the line is inactive without the mode switch being set to automatic. When the generator kicks on contactor GTS becomes energized thus opening contact GTS/AUX assuming the mode is automatic?
John, the wiring diagram is drawn representing no voltage applied. Once voltage is applied the contacts represented in the drawing change from open to closed and vice versa. You can call our Service Department @ 507-357-6831 to discuss the drawing further if you wish.
