  2. Question

    Jasper Panarotti

Have the Millinium ME500V/A Portable generator. Upon resurrecting thjs generator , while testing voltage w multi meter. I had the meter set on a wrong setting apparently & something popped. Had power output previously and now don’t. I have removed the gen head tail cover & noticed theres a capacitor , could I have popped this. The receptacles will not reset & only flicker when reset button is pressed. What could I have done??? Obviously something not good/correct. Any & all help is appreciated..it appears thus is a discontinued model. The winding wires look brand new & still shiny on the STATOR.

Jasper, it is possible that the capacitor is bad. It should be tested for capacitance to be sure. The receptacles will not re-set unless you provide them with the proper voltage. If you need it repaired locally, you can use our “Dealer Locator” to find your closest Winco Dealer.

  4. Question

    Mark Hillman

I just purchased a house and find a dyna 5000 millennium edition generator in the garage. I’m sure it hasn’t been operated in at 10 years. Can you suggest my next steps or either reconditioning it or scrap? Thank you

Mark, I would recommend putting some fresh gas in it and trying to start it. If it doesn’t start, you may want to take it to your local Briggs & Stratton Dealer to get it going again. If it does start, then check to see if it still produces voltage. If the voltage is good, continue to use as needed. If the voltage is not up to specs, then you could take it to your closest Winco Service Dealer for repair. You can find one by using our Dealer Locator on our website.

Jonathan, the generator-end on your model is a LeRoy Somer, built in France. LeRoy Somer does not have parts support for your model anymore. You may want to contact our Parts Department to see if they can match another generator-end to the engine, such as a Mecc Alte generator-end. Email [email protected] for the Parts Department.

Rande, there is only one oil reservoir inside the engine so it doesn’t matter which side you check and fill from. Please refer to your Briggs & Stratton engine manual for oil recommendations. If you need the engine manual you can download them from Briggs & Stratton’s website. http://www.briggsandstratton.com Engine model: 185432-0271-E2.
